Sovathna has joined legal team of S.K.Y Notary Public since 2017. Her areas of practices focus on Real estates, corporate, taxation and drafting of agreement. With consolidated legal research ability and capability from the earlier years of work, Sovathna has effectively assisted, coordinated and recently started leading the legal team to achieve their goals for drafting of agreements, notarial certificates, affidavits, company registration as well as for completing legal due diligence process on immovable properties for various transactions including without limitation to land sale-purchase agreement, perpetual lease agreement, real estate development project. In addition, she also has experiences in preparing monthly and yearly tax return filings for dormant companies as well as annual property tax on immovable property. With the above attributes, she has been orienting herself toward legal consultancy services in general business and corporate taxation.

Prior to joining SKY & ASSOCIATES Law Group, Sovathna did internship with the Centre for Applied Law (CREAD), a Phnom Penh based legal research project of Lumière Lyon 2 University of France with its main local office at the Royal University of Law and Economics, wherefrom she has learnt applied legal research methodologies with professional orientation of Cambodian laws and regulations. In addition, she has successfully completed the training course at Youth Resource Development Program and other projects from several NGOs in Cambodia.

Sovathna graduated LLB majoring in French Private Law from the Université Lumière Lyon 2 and the Royal University of Law and Economics in 2016. In 2018 she graduated LLM majoring in “Land and Property Law” from Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University of France in cooperation with the Royal University of Law and Economics of Cambodia. In addition, she has successfully completed special professional training courses on company registration organized by Ministry of Commerce.

Sovathna speaks Khmer and English with professional working proficiency, and French with limited working proficiency.

Soknaven’s career as legal assistant has started from 2018. Her areas of practice focus on Real estates, corporate, and drafting of agreements, including without limitation to land sale-purchase agreement, sale-purchase agreement on private unit, shareholder agreement, perpetual lease agreement and other corporate documents such as preparing articles of incorporation, shareholder resolution, resolution of the board of directors. She also handles administrative formality tasks such as company registration before the ministry of commerce, the tax administration and other relevant state agencies. With her consolidated legal research ability, she has effectively been assisting the team in the draft of legal opinion, memorandum and other technical articles relating to specific legal topics. Additionally, she also handles coordination and liaison with clients and state agencies.

Prior to joining SKY & ASSOCIATES Law Group, Soknaven did a six-month internship with the Phnom Penh court of first instance right after her graduation, wherefrom she has gained much awareness of the general functioning of public service of justice and their general administrative works such as case management, document filing, archives management. She also during her freshman year worked as operational intern at Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia where she gained experiences in preparing and executing projects for seminar, marketing and other associated tasks.

Rachana’s career as legal practitioner has started since earlier 2019. She has from the onset got involved with document and case management, general administrative tasks of the law group as swell as legal researches. She has effectively assisted lawyer and notary public in liaison with clients and ensuring smooth and productive communication and meeting environment. She has also been significantly contributed to ensuring exactitude of information and form of notarial certificate, agreement and other documents as well as translation from Khmer into English, and vice versa, thereof. Last, but not least, she has been assisting lawyer and notary public in reviewing draft of agreements and other documents as prepared by other junior staff in the law group.

Rachana graduated LLB from Royal University of Law and Economics in 2018, within special and prestigious program namely English Language Based Bachelor of Law (ELBBL), which she joined in 2015.

Vithet’s career as legal practitioner has started since 2017 during his late university years. He has been actively supporting the legal team for the drafting and translation of agreements, affidavit, notarial certificates and other legal documents including without limitation to sale-purchase agreement, lease agreement, business cooperation agreement and other types of contract in general. He has also been fully engaged in legal research activities of the law group.

Before joining SKY & ASSOCIATES Law Group, Vithet worked in 2017 as a legal intern at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) where he had effectively assisted the trial chamber in gathering information from witnesses as well as filtering the relevant information and conducting synthetic notes and résumés thereof in three languages, being Khmer, English and French. Furthermore, Vithet had also worked as legal intern at the Securities Exchange Commission of Cambodia (SECC) where he was in charge of conducting comparative researches from historical-legal perspectives between Cambodian and Indonesian securities exchange, on the one hand, and on the other hand, participated in investigation of illegal/non-compliant activities within securities sector.

Vanndy’s career as a legal practitioner has started from 2019. Her support and assistance have been of great significance to the legal team for drafting of several types of contracts such as shareholder agreements, sale-purchase agreement, perpetual lease agreement, loan agreement and other commercial agreements. Furthermore, she has also been in charge of translation of contracts, notarial certificates and other legal documents from Khmer into English and vice versa. In addition, she has been conducting researches and analysis of laws and regulations within the legal team of the law group.

Before joining SKY & ASSOCIATES Law Group, Vanndy did a three-month internship in 2018 right after completion of her 3rd year university as legal intern at a local notary public office where she has gained awareness of notary public career, notary services and their challenges. In 2019 after completing her 4th year university, she did another internship at the Ministry of Foreign affairs and International Cooperation of the Royal Government of Cambodia where she has learnt about general administrative tasks and protocol. In addition, she has also provided free of charge English teachings to kids from poor families within various charity programs. With this crossed sector experiences, Vanndy has made progresses in her career at remarkable pace.

Vanndy holds LLB from Royal University of Law and Economics in 2019, within prestigious, well-disciplined French cooperation program under direct management and supervision of Lumière Lyon 2 University of France. For foreign languages, she has obtained the Advanced certificate (IEAP) from PUC Institute of Foreign Languages (PUC-IFL) since 2016 and Diploma of Advanced 6 courses from Australia Center Education (ACE) in 2018. She also possesses DELF BI level of French from the Institut Français du Cambodge (IFC).

Samdy’s career as a legal assistant has started in 2019 shortly after his LLB graduation. He has been actively supporting the legal team for legal research activities both for public and private laws. He has also been effectively assisting the team for the drafting and translation of land sale-purchase agreement, shareholder Agreement, business cooperation agreement, other types of business contracts, notarial certificates, affidavits and other legal documents.

Samdy has successfully graduated his LLB from Royal University of Law and Economics in 2019, within prestigious, well-disciplined French cooperation program under direct management and supervision of Lumière Lyon 2 University of France. Additionally, He is currently pursuing LLM in International Business Law (IBL) administered by the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) with in depth technical cooperation with Libre de Bruxelles University for France.

Samdy speaks Khmer, English and French proficiently.
